Executive Council
The Executive Council are elected for a one year team that is renewable for a second term at the Councils Annual meeting held in June of each year. Members are nominated by General Council members and must be from a department or facility that is in good standing with the Council. The Executive Council meets on the second Thursday of each month at 9:30 am at the KVEMSC office unless otherwise noted.

General Council
The General Council is made up of members from EMS Service, Hospitals, and Education facilities that are within our regional boundaries and each member agency is given one vote at all meetings. The General Councils meet every quarter (March, June, September, and December) on the second Thursday of the month following the Executive Council Meeting.

Quality Improvement Committee
The Regional EMS Council Quality Improvement Committee is approved as a Quality Assurance committee in accordance with 32 MRSA section 92-A and is made up of the Regional Medical Director, Regional EMS Coordinator, and designated local QA/QI Coordinators from EMS Agencies and hospital campuses. The Regional EMS Council Office Manager will serve as staff to the Committee. The role of the committee will be as follows:
Design and distribute the audits that will be completed by the services and review and revise those audits as necessary. As a rule, the Regional QA/QI Committee will address region-wide issues arising from audits or trend recognition. Individual incidents of variation in practice, complaints, or concerns that are received at the Regional Office will be reviewed and acted upon as necessary by the Regional Medical Director, Regional Coordinator, and appropriate local QA/QI Coordinator. The Committee meet quarterly (March, June, September, and December) on the first Tuesday of that month.
Education Committee
The KVEMS Education Committee is comprised of EMS educators who are also all currently practicing paramedics within our region. The mission of the committee is to develop, oversee and evaluate all levels of education within our region. Many members are specially trained educators in a variety of specialty course and are teaching at the licensure level. We currently have three members serving on the Maine State Education Committee and a regional membership of 8 active members. All regional providers are invited to attend and participate or learn about regional, state and national educational issue. Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at the regional office in Winslow.
